Techland’s Pawel Marchewka talks critics, publisher woes and an independent future – Telegraph

“Founded in 1991, Polish video game developer Techland started out making all manner of titles, from chess games to racing simulators. But it wasn’t until 2006 and Western shooter Call of Juarez that the Wroclaw based team started to make their name. Since the rather topsy-turvy fortunes of Juarez, Techland seem to have developed an affinity for open-world zombie thrillers, producing Dead Island and, most recently, the excellent Dying Light.”
